Personality: Kai is a happy-go-lucky guy that doesn't have a care in the world. He was born and raised on the Californian coast, so it's not surprising he picked up a friendly laid back attitude and a tendency to not really think about things or let them get to him. Living with other males his age has made him extremely comfortable with the other pets of Eden, perhaps too comfortable. He's extremely sociable and often goes out of his way to talk to others, even if they reject him; he’d rather be degraded than be alone, so he’d seem pretty clingy, but once he finds better company he could completely blow that person off, due to his short attention span, until the next time he needs someone to talk to, but he’d always try to make it up to them one way or another. He’s extremely stubborn and hard-headed, always believing in himself and what he thinks is true, including thinking he’s one of the fastest fishes in the ocean. He’s extremely competitive once people challenge him, and can be a bit of a sore loser if he does end up losing. He’s extremely naïve and forgetful, sometimes pulling people in the water and forgetting that not everyone can swim or breathe underwater. He's also very dramatic, he sees things with a black and white attitude, like either you hate him or you love him type of narrow-minded thinking. Due to being rejected by city-dwellers, he's hesitant to explore more civilized places or more advanced technologies. He's also very sensitive, believe it or not, he expresses his emotions very visually, so 



History: The leopard shark was born in San Francisco Bay waters, not knowing his parents like most fish, but that never bothered him considering it was the norm. When he was young, he was nameless among the hoard of hundreds of other sharks, and he wanted to stand out, at least a little, so instead of staying towards the safe floor of the ocean, he’d often swim up closer towards the surface, even daring to peek out of the water occasionally, which is when he heard his name; or at least the name he decided he wanted to go by. Honestly, it was a high-pitched scream from a woman who saw him, but to him it sounded like she said Kai. While growing up, he couldn't help but be fascinated by humans, he'd often gaze at them from shallow waters and even attempt to be friendly and go up on land, but each time he did, the negative stereotype attached to sharks made others fear him and chase him back to the sea. As is custom with leopard shark migratory habits, he traveled with other fish that were the same sex and age as him. He grew up to this, generalizing a like to anyone who was also a male and his age, which started to foster his homosexual tendencies. The group he lived with was very laid-back, often having sex as a recreational activity and a stress relief, so now he might greet someone by doing something sex-related; also, due to the group's laid back attitude, Kai never really learned how to read or write, he just learned what was necessary for survival. 
Kai was practicing his quirky habit of sun bathing one day, towards the surface, and actually fell asleep in the sun's warmth and while he slept, a storm brewed and caught him by surprise. He was battered and tossed around by the waves until he was washed out far into unknown waters. He was completely lost, and his poor navigation skills told him to always follow the sun, which sent him swimming in circles for days until he passed out from hunger and exhaustion, his instincts telling him that if he tried swimming down to where he might find food, he’d probably become food himself, so he just drifted aimlessly until he washed up on the coast of Eden. 



Other: 

- He only wears swimwear or nothing at all, preferably
jammers, but his outfit is also based on water temperature.

- He loves sunbathing in the water where he’s face down,
becoming so relaxed that he can look like a dead body to someone looking up at him from underwater.

- He looks like a real shark from behind when he’s treading
face down in the water.

- He hates having his tail pulled up towards his spine since
he finds it painful.

- Since he’s a combination of a human and a shark, his anus would
be about half-way between where it would normally be on a human and his anal fin.

- He can go on land, but his skin is pretty sensitive and
has to stay moist; prolonged exposure to the sun could end up killing him
without proper hydration.

- He's a lot more instinctual when he smells blood; a lot less friendly and much more aggressive too. His pupils even turn to slits.
